Yankee Doodle is in Quiltmaker

Did you see it?

I have a quilt in Quiltmaker July/August 2018!

It’s called Yankee Doodle (was originally Grand Ol’ Flag)

YankeeDoodle_FL

It measures 56” x 68” and the blocks are 8” plus 4” sashing blocks

A fun Storm at sea quilt!

YankeeDoodle_ST

The fabrics are “solid-ish” by Timeless Treasures

I made this quilt using the 8” QUBE set and companion Angles set by Accuquilt and listed it with the quilt when I sent it in, but the magazine changed it to rotary cutting and foundation piecing, which of course you CAN use that technique, but it’s MUCH fast with the QUBE dies!!

Here’s the quilt hanging above Sonja’s computer/craft table

and here’s my EQ sketch of the quilt Smile

I do have one extra magazine to give away to anyone in the US

  1. Any chance you could share those Accuquilt directions? I was thinking about converting it, but if you already have the qube equivalent that would be a great timesaver. I understand if there are copywrite restrictions.

  2. Wow love this quilt. Congrats How does the accuquilt cube work exactly? I've never bought one. Not sure I've paid attention to what the cube is.

I have made a flag quilt – mostly though flags as part of another quilt. Thanks for the chance. Your flag is gorgeous.

  4. I love this one! What a fun take on the Storm at Sea blocks!Congrats!!!!!

  5. Love the quilt, I want to do a flag quilt, was thinking hexies or yo-yo's but may change my mind…

I've actually made several flag quilts (wall size) for different people. The first one (on my wall) was the 2nd quilt I ever made. Your quilt is great. I don't have an Accu, so rotary cutting is my way.

  7. I made one flag that was not to my liking so I made another wall quilt with patriotic stripes and stars and I love it! Never thought of storm at sea as a flag but it works!

  8. I have made a flag quilt and donated as a fundraiser. I also have made a couple QOV quilts and was honored to present one. Love my country, love my flag.

  9. I have only made one flag quilt. Born on the 4th wall hanging Finished 9.12.14 40" x 40"

  10. I made a flag wall hanging with tumbler blocks, just have to get it quilted. I have a gift quilt to finish first and my machine is down so today I pick up a replacement machine.

I tried to make a comment on the rafflecopter, it won't let me, so I'll do it here. ;)I have always wanted to make a Flag Quilt or table topper…with having the die sets in hand, now there is no excuse with this AWESOME pattern! Bea…YOU ROCK! ♥

  12. I have made several throughout he years. Love yours and I’m going to have to make it! Great work!

Haven't made a flag quilt but have made several flag wall hangings using Missouri Star Quilt Co instructions & their tumbler die. The wall hangings are the size to hang on the door for the holliday.

  14. I have made a small flag quilt wall hanging. I hand stitched and hand quilted the whole quilt. Unfortunately our house burned and I lost the quilt and pictures. But I do have good memories of making it.

What a beautiful quilt! I have made a small flag wall hanging and a storm at sea quilt but didn't think to combine them!

  16. I really like the quilt and it's a great new version of a Storm at Sea pattern. Nicely done.

  17. So glad you put it on FB too as I missed this post. I LOVE your quilt, what a great idea!!!!!!!!
