Sign ups for Blog hop! Dust off an old quilt book!

Every year for several years now I host a blog hop in March called “Dust off a quilt book”

This year it will be March 6th to the 10th

The theme is supposed to mean that you look at your shelf of quilt books and find an old one or one you haven’t used in a while and “dust it off” and then make something from the book, it could be that you like the block of a quilt but not the 80s colors or maybe you like the colors but not the quilt or the size or whatever, the book is just supposed to INSPIRE you to make something.

I was really sad to read that Martingale is going out of business and today is their last sale on books, so if you want to “cheat” and get a new book and make something from that, I won’t judge 😉

Or…. like so many of us, we have some really, really old books! It could be a challenge to see who finds the OLDEST published book! I might do a giveaway for that for both the participants and the blog readers!?

Let me know if you want to join, email me and send me your contact email address, your blog name and blog address and if you prefer a day of the week or not.

Hi, lady. I seldom remember to look at blogs, so was glad to get your email. I would like to participate. I need motivation to get moving!

  1. Neat idea for the theme. I have so many books, some old and some new. Good idea to actually go back and use them again!

  2. First glance I thought it was a bookcase quilt & thought a week? no way🤣I’m getting to the age I have to take the glasses off to read 🤣 I’ve collected quilting books since the 70’s

  3. Hello! I’m a new follower and I think I would like to join in. Monday would be a good day for me but I’m also flexible. I am actually just starting one from a book pulled from my shelf–not quite a “cheater” but I did just buy it from Martingale last fall, before the sad announcement. However, I think it’s had enough time to gather particles of dust/lint–it is a quilt studio! Are we to have the top–or whole quilt?–made by the hop? Or should we just be starting that day? (Goodness knows I can do another–I’m on a roll!). Feel free to email me (or go thru my blog) the details!

  4. Hello there, I stumbled upon your blog looking for blocks on Pinterest. I love, love, love 30 blocks in 30 days. Now the old quilt book hop along will be a real challenge for me, but I’m going to try. I just won’t let work, or my guild, or life matters get in the way….Lol. count me in!

  5. Yes, I think I want to join the hop. Thanks for mentioning it. I’ve done it a few times in the past. It will be a small project, but I have one in mind. =)
