Scrappy Bear claw quilt is done

This quilt was one I first designed in EQ after I looked at my scrap bins and noted which ones were overflowing!

Now the tricky part was that one bin that was overflowing was “white prints” which is an odd collection.

The other bins were “black print”, red and yellow.

After I designed the layout in EQ I got out the bins and the bear paw die from Accuquilt and cut away!!

I cut all these in August and used as my leader and ender project until I had the middle part of the quilt done.

the blocks are FUNKY!! and notice how almost all of the background reds was the same color, except for ONE block!

I then waited on a solid red for the border and I ordered plenty of it so I used it for binding as well.

I long arm quilted this star design called starlets

I had a big piece of blue backing from MMF that seemed to fit well, at least in size 😉

The whole quilt measures 58″ x 72″

and I still have the Thanksgiving sale going on!

  1. Love this scrappy bear paw quilt! I have EQ8 and Accuquilt dies and the GO! cutter and I need to get busy and use up my scraps!

  2. Bea I saw a post on Facebook of how you were using different dies
to cut Bear Claw quilt. I can’t find it could you please tell me where to find it I didn’t to read it all.
    Thank You

    1. I used the bear claw, but if you have the 8″ qube set, you can use dies #1,2 and #5 and then cut the 2 1/2″ strips for the rectangles between the paw sections.

Dear Bea, I just mistakenly deleted my Midnight at the River pattern from my USB. I want to download it again from my account but I don’t know how to get to my account on your website….My account could be under Shelly Gische or Rochelle Gische.
