Long arm quilting a horse quilt

Last week the only thing I really managed to do while Anja was sick, was to Long arm quilt this big quilt for a customer

It’s all about horses 🙂

For the quilting we found this cute stars and horseshoes pattern and I used a light brown thread and quilted it allover with QCT

And I’ve tweaked my tension more and more on my long arm, so it’s MUCH better now, I had the bobbin case super loose and it didn’t do anything, but then I found the screw at the top of the machine where the bobbin winder it, it was SO tight, hubby had to use WD40 on it and I loosened that screw SO much, well a quarter turn and then tried something on one of my own quilt, then loosened it more and more until I was happy and I could work on this quilt!

The quilt was so big I couldn’t really get a good picture of it, but here’s the backing, she had also added some solid black to the sides because the backing was only a few inches bigger and that doesn’t work on a long arm, so it was a big tricky to make sure I was within the frame of it, but it worked out!

Here’s the urban elementz horseshoes design, I did it maybe 11″ tall, edge to edge
