I’m in Quiltmaker again!

I’m in Quiltmaker again!!

This time it’s a small project! A cute table topper and I used Accuquilt dies- the gnome die and the Northwood die where I used the tree from it.

and it’s made using flannels from Maywood Studios! I appliqued around each shape in grey thread.

(I just noticed I don’t have my “published” tab anymore- gotta fix that!!)

Here’s some pictures I took when I made this (Back in APRIL!! LOL)

I got two magazines so I have one to give away! Enter the raffle copter below and comment on this blog post if you like doing applique on your quilts and if so, which method do you use?

I love it – I’m crazy about gnomes and I have both of those dies. Applique is one of my favorite techniques and I’ve used everything from straight stitching (for raw-edge and sketched looked applique), to satin stitch to blanket stitch to decorative stitch for stitching down my pieces. And Accuquilt makes it so easy to cut fun designs!

  2. If I am going to applique, it will be needleturn and stitch, I’m nor a fan of fused and raw edges, altho I have done some.

  3. Congratulations Bea. Your holiday gnome table topper is absolutely adorable. I do love gnomes and now you’ve inspired me to buy these dies. I truly love, love, love what you created. I’ll track down and buy an issue of this magazine, just for “your” sweet design.

  4. I was never fond of applique until I started doing some. I do like wool applique because it gives the project an old-fashioned appeal. Plus, I like raw-edged applique (but I do not care for fusing, I prefer starching the piece to death). Sometimes it provides a little something different in a quilt. Congratulations on being in this magazine!

Congratulations for being published in Quiltmaker magazine. I love to appliqué. I fuse my pieces then do an heirloom blanket stitch with my machine. I have made appliqué table runners and quilts. Just finished a quilt for my granddaughter with appliquéd flip flops.

  6. Congratulations! Your table topper is adorable. I do machine applique. although I have tried needle turn. a couple of times. I am not so great at it but may try it again as I think it is beautiful and would like to get better at it.
