FPP With Island batik

This month’s challenge with Island Batik is paper piecing, it can be English paper piecing, or Foundation piecing.

I showed one EPP project already here

But then I wanted to show some FPP too!

Here’s how I made it

First I printed the blocks and cut them out, then the directions also show how to cute each section- I did sub a few colors and added 3 purples and a grey for the background, as I only had a FQ or small scraps of the dark and light purple.

I just love this checkered purple fabric from Island Batik called Check it out

Then I started sewing the block pieces together with a short stitch length

after the block sections were done, I trimmed and removed the papers

Then sewed these together into blocks

Here’s the blocks all done, that check is just FUN!

Then added the borders

And I quilted it with a small pointy swirl allover and added the pale purple as binding

This is a pattern I have in my shopify store here

It’s an “old” pattern, but still “works” ha ha
