Florence quilt in McCall’s QQ April May 2019

I have another quilt in a quilting magazine!

This is a quilt I named “Florence” and it’s in McCall’s Quick Quilts April/ May 2019!

fabrics are Fandangle by Christa Watson from Benartex

I made this last fall when the hurricane “Florence” hit SC and NC and of course I used my GO cutter and the 8″ QUBE set and companion set, this way I was able to make the quilt from start to finish in just a few days while we prepared for the storm to hit us!

(I also thought the spinning design reminded me of the hurricane swirl a bit)

I wrote a little blog post for McCall’s here

and about how we weathered the storm!

-also there’s a free pattern, a mini version of another quilt I designed for McCall’s a while back.

  1. I like the design. I think it would be lovely in solids or "almost solid" batiks.
