Did you see these stockings on Accuquilt’s blog this week?
These were SEW much fun to make!
Here’s a quick tutorial on how I made them, you can look on Accuquilt’s blog for a more detailed tutorial.
I used 12 fabrics and cut out 12 crazy blocks with the crazy BIG die
(This die only fits the GO BIG but it’s really fun!!)
I then shuffled the pieces around
Then I sewed them together into blocks and sewed sets of 2 blocks together and layed on batting
Then I did a lot of decorative stitching and then cut out 6 stockings (3 reversed) from the Santa stocking die
For the cuffs I used this super soft and fluffy fur from Shannon fabrics, because it’s so thick, I only cut one at a time, but cutting 6 didn’t take long
then I cut out 6 stockings and cuffs in plain fabric (3 stockings reversed)
I added a hanging tag and sewed them together like this before sewing right sides together with an opening at the cuff for turning.
and that’s how I made the stockings!
Accuquilt should have a pattern soon for these that I wrote, but I think they are waiting for photography 😉
