Baby hexagon quilt, bear baby quilt and scraps cut

I’m really on a “scrap” kick and sorting bins, I found these pink medium hexagons in a bin with the mini hexagons when I made the mug rug a while ago.

Of course I had to cut more out and with hexagons- half hexagons it’s always hard to figure out how big it will be and how many, but I figured out something EQ and cut enough to make this!

After this point I trimmed the sides and added a 3 1/2″ pink border

Here’s the quilt all done, I did curves from corner to corner on the hexagons and straight lines on the border

the back looks fun!

Then while I was sorting thru bins I also found this bear block I had made a while ago and it was put in a bin with 5″ ohio star blocks from the scrap quilt I made last year or the year before. and there were 4 of them in green that kind of went with the green in the bear, so then I added a green sashing border in between and then a blue outer border, it’s small now 27″ x 27″ but that can still work as a baby quilt I think.

I saw a quilt on the accuquilt FB group made from scraps and designed this in EQ to be more “planned” and I cut out purple and green and white scraps with the 6″ QUBE set and also strip dies for the borders, it finishes at 35″ x 41″

I listed this kit for sale on FB for $30 including free US shipping, let me know if you’d like it 🙂

Another kit I created is this Christmas runner with my Duck,Duck, Goose pattern, I’m selling this for $25 including the paper pattern. It finishes 20″ x 40″ and I’ll add my leftovers where you can cut binding. The kit I cut already includes 3 block pieces and fabrics for two borders. US free shipping

The next kit I cut out is star sections for the “patriotic stars” pattern, BUT I used the 10″ QUBE set to cut out pieces and did enough for 12 blocks, where all the pieces are shuffled around, I’ll include the pattern, but only follow it loosely, as the background on the star blocks have to be mixed (the large triangle and squares don’t all match, but are cut in sets of 4!) so the quilt should finish 30″ x 40″ without borders. I do have a yard of beige dotted fabric that can either be added as a border or for binding or maybe you can use it for both? This is $35 including US shipping

Plus I’m still working on my store HERE!

  1. What a sweet baby quilt. I’ve got very little pink fabrics, but maybe I should have had more? Have a nice weekend! I will, with my birthday on Sunday.

I’m hoping to use my half hexie die (and maybe tumbler too) to work through my scrap bag over the Christmas break. I like that design you created in EQ. I’m looking forward to my beginner class at QuiltCon so I can learn how to use it.

  3. Love those pink hexagons! That quilting motif highlights the hexies nicely and does look great on the back. Fun teddy bear!

I hope your family has a wonderful Thanksgiving!
