Washington’s rainbow

I recently finished this scrappy quilt I made with the Washington’s Puzzle die by Accuquilt

It measures 34″ x 42″ so a nice baby quilt size

The die is great for small scraps! You just have to decide which way you want the block to “turn” so here all the fabrics were right side UP, for solid white it didn’t matter that I fanfolded on the die 🙂

I had so much fun cutting out scraps with this die, I could have easily made it much bigger but I decided at some point to stop and make it baby sized!

Even if I cut out a bunch of reds, it was fun to match up with center square should go with the outer shapes, and I had no rules for light or dark, it was just to make each block a color and white background triangles.

I think my long arm design was called “coffee break” I tend to use that design quite often.

For the backing I used some red dotted fabric I had leftover from the FQ club when I had a Christmas bundle, the red had tiny white and pale teal or turquoise dots, I don’t think they “scream” Christmas themed at all, so it was just nice to use up.

The Washington Puzzle die is probably one of my favorites by Accuquilt for using scraps because the pieces are tiny! The finished blocks are 4″ finished!!

Here’s other Washington puzzle ideas!
