Have you ever tried the Tangled Star die by Accuquilt?
It makes a 10" Finished block!
It's a fun die and takes a bit of thinking and planning, no way I would do this any other way than using the die!!
A while ago I made this quilt, where I combined the Tangled Star die, with the chimney sweep die, but the 10" and 5" QUBE sets to make this quilt!
I don't have a picture of the label anymore and gave the quilt away already but I think it's around 39" x 49" so a nice lap sized quilt!

Both the Tangled Star and the chimney sweep die are BOB dies (Block on board) so everything gets cut out at once!
As you may notice too I use a Sharpie and mark the size of the fabric or WOF that needs to go over each shape.

Here's a mock up made with my "Bunny" fabrics from the website shop
EQ says 1 1/2yd Green, 1 1/4yd Blue and 1/2yd Brown
(I'd probably add 1/4yd to each just to make sure there's no bad cuts)

I also recently used the Tangled Star die and made this quilt
I put the blocks on point and added sashing and alternate blocks so it looks totally different!
It measures 41" x 41"

I used some shop fabrics too but here's a mock up in the "bunny" fabrics too
It's made with 1yd blue, and 3/4yd of brown, beige and green- I probably cut 1yd of those 3 and 1 1/2yd of the blue and used for binding.

It's a fun block to play with, but you have to concentrate on how the pieces go and you can't fan fold on the die, but other than that, the blocks go together perfectly and I don't think I would try this any other way!
Get the die here
