Have you tried the lucky star die by Accuquilt?

It's retired by them so there might be other places online where you can find the die!

As you can see it's quite intricate! and I don't think I'd try this block without the die, it's probably a FPP block which would make it easier, but NOT as easy as the die!!

When the die was released, I designed this quilt for Accuquilt and made the quilt- the pattern is still on their website

I wanted to make a rectangular lap quilt version of it, so since I designed it in EQ it was easy to just add more rows.

Then it finishes 38" x 52"

As always, when I cut out the pieces I store them in a clear bin and add the leftover fabrics in there too, just in case I need them later for binding or backing or I miscut something.

This quilt combines the lucky star die and the 10" QUBE! Plus borders- which you can use a strip die for or rotary cut.

Here's my cutting directions for the die (with the letters for each shape on the die)

I had to pay attention to right side up on the fabric and cut pieces out instead of fan folding- unless the fabric was a solid fabric.

Black (24) of B and C, cut 6" x 5 1/2"

Dark Grey (24) of A, cut 3--4 1/4" WOF strips

#4 from 10" QUBE set (24) cut 1-6 3/4" WOF

Light Grey (24) of D and E, cut 3" x 3 3/4" (I have a note I cut 3 WOF strips)

Dark Pink #4 (24) same as above

Light Pink F, F, G (24 of each) 5 1/2" x 3 1/4"

#4 (24) same as above

White H (24) 6" WOF strip

4 (24) same as above

Borders you can add what you feel like :)

Then I started sewing the block pieces together, there's 6 Lucky star blocks, this is a quarter of a block

Then I added the other half

And finally the block is done

I didn't take pictures of the alternate 10" QUBE blocks but they are actually on-point and the edges would have half or quarter blocks which makes it a bit tricky when adding the borders
