Have you tried the crazy patch die by Accuquilt?
They used to have one for the go BIG that made a 10" block but I only see the 6" block now.

It's a lot of fun using this die and you lay out a 9.5" square and cut out all the pieces at once (6 to 8 layers) so this die would work great for a layer cake!!
As you know I lost years and years of blog posts, but the internet never forgets so after I googled the die I found this picture from when I was making Christmas stocking for Accuquilt with the crazy patch die AND the stocking die!

I had also added a fur edge to them and make 3 of them but when Accuquilt got them they sent them to get photographed and UPS lost them!! so they made 3 new ones.... so these are not mine but it was my idea and the same fabrics :)

I'm PRETTY sure I also made this Christmas table topper/tree skirt (sort of) with the BIG die, I really don't remember and some of these old patterns on Accuquilt's website don't give the designer the credit, so I really don't know for sure. But anyways it combines the crazy patch die block with a QUBE set.

For another Christmas project for Accuquilt, I made this quilt with sashing blocks. (I have the fabric scraps to prove it's mine LOL)

When I was an Island Batik ambassador, I made this quilt, I'm pretty sure it was with the 10" block, you can see I also did decorative stitches on the blocks, that's a LOT of fun to do! -Whatever happened to this quilt? who did I give it to?? I don't remember.

Instead of making the whole block scrappy, you can just swap out the center piece, I have made this in real life but don't have a picture anymore, so only this EQ sketch.

the crazy patch block die is fun and versatile I think!
