Last weekend Solveig graduated from Meredith and tomorrow we’re having a party for her!
We’re very proud of her!
She loved her temperature quilt!
These last few days we’ve finally gotten 3 trees for my in-laws and my mom’s ashes and “buried” them under the trees.
The ashes are actually not a lot, maybe 2-3 cups, so we dug a hole for the tree then a bit of a crevice to the side for the ashes and put that in there, then watered it and then planted the tree normally
My mom’s tree is a European Beech Tree, that’s the national tree of Denmark
For both of Dan’s parents we planted River Birch Trees
We’ve been doing more planting too, some rose bushes for a hedge around our fire pit (we’ll do something with the ground too, but haven’t thought that far)
It’s mostly Dan doing stuff around the house, he likes to stay busy and he still goes to the gym too, next week we’re seeing the oncologist again and he’ll get another ADT hormone shot, plus he started the ADT pills and Prednisone, and he’ll probably start chemo the following week.
All this stuff has really gotten to me, I was sad for several days after planting the trees and at the same time Dan saying he’ll finally do chemo! Right now he looks totally fine, I know chemo will probably make him lose his hair, but it just makes me think of my in-laws and my mom, at the end, being so sick and dying, being so frail…. I don’t want to see my MANLY husband like that! Hopefully it’ll be many years before that, but still… so much death and sickness lately!

Congratulations to Solveig. I love her graduation cap. The memory trees are going to grow and always provide great memories. I also love the roses around your firepit. Not everyone who goes thru chemo loses their hair. I think it depends on the type of chemo. And Dan did so well when he got Covid I think he will do very well with chemo. Beautiful quilts. Sending positive thoughts, prayers and hugs to Dan and all of you!
