The last two weeks have been busy and also NOT busy.
Two weeks ago, Anja started getting a body rash- no fever, just a rash, she had also gotten a bug bite on her hand and it got swollen so I took her to the doctor to make sure it wasn’t an allergic reaction to it, first I had given her benadryl which I had never given her before and the rash had started so I also didn’t know if it could be an allergic reaction to the allergy medicine? You never know…the NP said it was a virus, then last weekend we had friends visit from Singapore and I had told them about Anja’s rash and I had started to get a sore throat, they were fine and actually had a slight sore throat too (probably from all the traveling and airplane air?) By then Anja’s rash had spread all over her body but she didn’t seem bothered by it, we went to the zoo Saturday, then at night she got a fever up to 103.6! Our local urgent care was closed and it was late, so I kept her comfortable with ibuprofen and called the doctor Sunday and we agreed on being seen Monday morning- of course by then she seemed fine, I still had a sore throat, our friends had left and then by Tuesday night I felt really bad, my throat was on FIRE and my temp was 100, so I went to the doctor Wednesday to get tested for Strep (it was negative!!) I just treat with ibuprofen and then nyquil at night, I really didn’t have any other Covid symptoms, the next day Sonja got 103 temp and the next day Dan got 103 temp too, he’s NEVER sick and for a grown man, he was miserable! I keep taking ibuprofen but Friday I was able to sew a little bit but otherwise we just laid low, hung around at home and watched TV, Bjorn postponed coming home from college until yesterday, he went to see a friend and then said he has all summer to get sick, he’d rather be at home! I don’t know if it’s Covid, we’re not going to test for it or the flu, because doctor’s don’t want to do anything about it, so we’ll just self treat…..Solveig is totally fine and she is shopping for us now, except she’s under 18 so she can’t buy Dayquilt or Nyquil! I never knew that was the law, makes sense though! Hopefully this will pass in a few days and we’ll be back to normal!
