Strawberry fields in black and white

I love working with scraps and when one of my scrap bins is overflowing I pull it out and figure out something to make with those scraps! My toughest bin is the “white print” the prints can be large or small and odd colors, it’s really hard to match up with other things.

But this time I did something fun! I grabbed my Strawberry fields pattern and the white print scraps AND the black print scraps and cut out pieces for this fun log cabin quilt, my only RULE with the white prints was that the prints had to be black on white, grey on white or blue on white.

I used solid grey as the border and a grey scrap print for the center of the blocks (I just rummaged thru the grey bin and found a piece that was big enough to cut 20 of!)

I really like how this turned out, it’s fun and funky and yet controlled a bit 🙂

TODAY only the Strawberry fields pattern is on sale for $8 (PDF or print)

as you can see it’s supposed to be a FQ friendly pattern but scraps work too!!

  1. Very gender neutral so guys would love it too! It can be so hard to find things to go into a quilt that some fellows might find objectionable. My brother-in-law objects to purples and all kinds of colors! Well, he and my sis got their quilt: reds, orange and golds in an autumn leaf quilt.

    1. Whenever I try to make a MANLY quilt, I try not to have florals or girly colors. Fall colors always work well! My hubby loves fall colored quilts!
