Rising Star QAL Block D

It’s time for a harder block for the Rising Star QAL

Don’t worry, it’s not HARD it’s just more pieces.

As you know a QUBE standard Block is based off of a 4×4 grid, this block is a 5×5 grid so 1 1/4x bigger than the QUBE set.

So, I don’t know HOW this happened, but searching for pictures on my computer of these blocks, I JUST realized that I made these blocks TWICE!! one time before Christmas and one time in January!! LOL, so now I have to rip the newer set apart eventually or cut out more pieces! I can’t believe I did that and didn’t even remember I had JUST made them already, well I do have a bunch of projects in the works and then being without a camera/phone for about a month, I think messed me up too, to not be able to scroll back and look at the pictures!?

Anyways, this block you’re making 4 of- (not 8 in my case, LOL)

Here’s the pieces needed

A white, 16 of shape #2 and shape #5

B Light Grey, 16 of shape #3

C Dark Grey, 16 of shape #2

D Black, 4 of shape #2 and 32 of shape #5

F Blue, 16 of shape #5

I always try to sew as much together as possible in one “sitting” before getting up to iron (that’s also why I work on multiple projects at once)

Here I sewed the Dark Grey and White #2 squares together and the Blue and White #5 HSTs together

then add the black #5 triangles

and #3 Light Grey triangles

Then sew the blocks together with the sections above and a Black #2 square in the center- 4 blocks total!

And sew those together into sets of 2 and add to the quilt at the top and bottom like this

Look at my duplicates!! DUH, double forehead smack!! LOL

Here’s my “tester” Char’s version of the blocks

The pattern is “Rising Star” and you can get it here in my shop.
