Painting the prayer garden blocks

I finally got around to painting the prayer garden blocks with my new COPIC markers- I also ordered the blender pen but haven’t used it THAT much on the blocks.

Here’s some of the blocks “painted”

I started assembling today and I KNEW I would run into “snags” with it, the directions say to trim 1/4” but to sew just inside the stitched line, so I trimmed a smidge inside it and they are off!! once assembled!

This one especially! since there’s so many pieces

I decided to CENTER the smaller side so the seam that’s supposed to match is deliberately off, it doesn’t look TOO bad, but still Sad smile

I’ll keep going and see how it looks at the end.

Tomorrow I’m going to Pine tree guild meeting and I just got the pattern for the BOM by email around new years I think it’s all appliqued and then with felt/wool, kind of tricky….

I didn’t have any small black buttons for the eyes so I omitted them and the background fabric was supposed to be a blue with stars- didn’t have that so I chose a dark blue batik instead and the yellow star fabric DOES have stars on it… then I found a few snowflake buttons and will bring those too.

How about this resolution??

I actually have SO much fabric, I really want to cut back, unless I see something GREAT from Tonya’s ozark fabric group or from connecting threads, I’ll hold off on impulse fabric buying- (I can just see my husband quoting this back to me the next time he sees a fabric charge on the credit card! LOL)

Those are lovely. I am sure the final result will be awesome. I have been playing with Inktense pencils-what fun!

Great work. I am trying not to buy fabric either this year, I lasted until a wonderful online sale caught my eye on January 4th. I need to try harder!

Bea, your garden blocks are lovely! I'm going to have to investigate your pens -- I love crayon tinting, but I've never painted with pens. Fascinating!!! :)
