Creative new quilts Blog Hop

creativenewquiltsbloghopcover

I was SEW excited to get a new quilting book and then some more fabrics from Island Batik to make a quilt from the book for this blog hop.

My quilt is this girly Ribbon quilt called childhood Memories

There’s also a cute boy version with a boat

I originally had Anja in mind for this quilt, but then I changed my mind and picked something totally different- more adult like.

Black, white and red!!

Here’s the quilt!

I LOVE IT in these colors and the directions were fun and easy to follow

I quilted the quilt in black and just did a basic meandering design all over it.

And I used up all the scraps for the backing too

I embroidered a label and had to change the name for it, as it’s more adult like Smile That’s ok right?

Those are super cute quilts Bea. I really love the little sailboat. I owe a baby quilt to a friend, although her 'baby' is now nearing 2 yrs old. ACK. I'm so bad. That one might be an idea.

I love Wendy's style and her quilts. I don't know how she does it. She has so many ideas and so many are something I'd love to make myself. I bought her last book and this one is on my list of must buy books too. It looks like another awesome book. My amazing husband often runs to the bookstore to purchase magazines which have her quilts in them.

How cute are these? I think I'm going to have to make a couple of these for gifts or better yet, use some stash and make charity quilts.

I like your adult version, and you label too!

How very different from Wendy's versions. Just shows that we should be open to trying other color combo's and not just trying to replicate the original one (not that there's anything wrong with that.

Those are the cutest quilts and then you go change the color. wow. That's really awesome. It goes from little girlish to more mature for as she grows up. I like that. I don't tend use to many baby themes in my quilts. I want the recipient to be able to use it longer that just as a baby or toddler.
