Good Friday - Faith

I finally got around to quilting this Panel I had made a while ago.

Pattern is by McKenna.

It’s all raw edge appliqued and since I did it in black I wasn’t sure what color to quilt it in, then I thought of WHITE and just did it simple. I only quilted the applique shapes and nothing else

After I quilted it, I trimmed it down and made a pillow

I even added a zipper! forgot how EASY that was for a pillow!

Since I just quilted the shapes it made everything else be more puffy, a fun effect

Thought it would be fitting to post this on Good Friday!

FAITH!!

My faith was SURELY tested last week, some of you know my story now and some of you know I just had a bummer week.

I wasn’t going to share it here, but then I also felt I should even though it may be TMI….

Anyways, I had a miscarriage! I was 9wks along and last Sunday started spotting, then the night to Monday I started labor pains and bleeding and passed it/him/her Monday morning….. it really hit me hard. But I know it’s God’s way of saying that something was wrong and He took care of it!

I’ve had a miscarriage before 10yrs ago between my other two kids but I wasn’t that far along and it didn’t hit me as hard as this time.

Then Tuesday Sonja got into my new bottle of ibuprofen, I knew she ate one pill and called 911, they called poison control and weren’t too worried, but then we found an open bottle of children’s liquid ibuprofen and it was empty, though I thought it was close to empty before and there were no spills or sticky-ness on her, but we weren’t sure, so we took her to the ER, after 2 hrs we got sent home and was told it’s really hard to O.D on ibuprofen, you can’t test the blood for it and there was no need to empty her stomach, so that was at least good news!

But I sure didn’t feel like a SUPER mommy last week!

I’m okay now, of course I’ll feel the loss for a while Sad smile

just felt like I had to share this.

We’re going to spend Easter with friends and the girls will wear their new dresses!

Hope you all have a Blessed Easter weekend, and remember the true reason why we celebrate. Smile

I, too, am sorry to read about your miscarriage. I've always believed God works in mysterious ways, but have the faith to trust Him. As for Sonja getting into the meds - been there done that as I think many parents have.
Have a Blessed Easter and enjoy the day.

Sending hugs your way and prayers for you. Had two miscarriages myself almost 20 years ago and they still are hard. May God comfort you. YOu are an amazing woman. Take time to let your body rest and heal.

Having been through the loss at 4 mos., I know how hard it is & I am so glad your faith is strong. I know the Lord will hold you & your family close. The medicine thing is more common than most would think. It has nothing to do with being a good mom, so don't beat yourself up. Love & prayers sent for you.

So sorry to hear of your loss. These losses are so real and so difficult!

Wow! And then the ER. My goodness.

You ARE a good mom, and we all know it.

Have a blessed Easter.

Bea, you have my Deepest Sympathy for your loss, that cushion (Sorry, pillow) that you were quilting could not have been more apt, the Lord surely does move in mysterious ways to remind us that he is here, guiding and protecting us,we don't always understand, but we are part of his great plan.
I can remember when we were little and all had the measles, actually climbing onto a wardrobe to get a bottle of penicillin, it was day-glo pink, we had to stay in bed so we were bored,&I 'washed' my brother's hair in it playing at hairdressers, I can still remember the panic and the screaming 'Did you drink any?' AND the red raw backside after the panic subsided, lol. The same week my 2 yr old brother managed to open a tin of lead paint and came in covered in blue, he was rushed to A&E (ER)and when they got back home, he did it again, with a tin of Red, so don't beat yourself up, you're probably holding her a little tighter after the painful loss of your new one, and feel as though you're a useless/nuts/evil ~(pick the name you've been calling yourself here)mother for leaving stuff where she can get at it, but the truth is, children can get at almost anything if they try hard enough. Be grateful that she wasn't harmed by this little 'adventure' and remind yourself, there's only another 18 years or so of this, and then you can relax a bit. Easter Blessings to You and your family from Nottingham. Sharon <3

First of all, the pillow is perfect especially lately. I too am so sorry for the loss. I'm sure it isn't easy but your beautiful children have to make your heart sing. Thankfully Sonja is ok and I'm betting that you are moving all the meds to a safer location now. Big hugs my friend.

Bea, I'm so grateful to hear that she is ok. Please don't think your not a super mom because of this. We all go through this. We are all super mom's. Things are hard. They are there to strengthen us. You are stronger because you went through this. You can now help someone else down the road.
I have gone through so many hard times in my life that I have wondered why I was meant to go through them. I have been shown why many times over. Remember this. Don't put yourself down because of this. Little kids move so fast. I love you!
