beaquiltersEQ7tutorialtuesday
Have you ever played with the EQ Layout Library?
I just recently “found” it

It’s under Libraries and Layout Library
image
Then you’ll see LOTS of fun layouts
image
I chose this STARS1 one under Blocks by style and STARS
then added to sketchbook
image
Under Irregular grids, I chose #7, add to sketchbook too
image
"Do you EQ’s current challenge is NY Beauties- funny, that last month’s challenge my quilts used those blocks!
Under BLOCKS, select FOUNDATION pieced and there’s a section called NY Beauties
image

Pick a few that you like, or really just ONE you really like. – add to sketchbook
Now go to the sketchbook and find the layouts under QUILTS
image
Now the FUN part!
Pick your NY Beauty block and hold down CTRL and click on the quilt to fill it all up like this
image
Now go back and rotate the blocks around, I usually start at the center and work my way out.
here’s my layout – I did remove the borders
image
You know I love BLUE
image
How about the STAR layout
image
I filled that one too with the same block
a BIG mess, but just wait until you rotate the blocks!
image
Here’s one way!
image
and another
image
and with another NY Beauty block
image
Now want to make your own layout?
Pick some simple blocks and add to sketchbook
Pick some SIMPLE blocks!
image
Click Quilt / create quilt from quilt block
image
and this pops up
image
You can then change the size and add to sketchbook
So a block like this
image
turns into a layout like this
image
and a quilt like this!
image
Try this is EQ7!! have fun and link up
(Thanks Penny for reminding me how I did this again- I forgot!)
BTW the EQ staff is always very helpful, anytime you have questions or want to do something in EQ but can’t figure it out- email them and ask!

I love it. I've been playing with mine lately but not as much as I would like. I've also been doing the lessons for EQStitch. --Just not enough time in the day

Thanks for reminding me of those possibilities in EQ, the NY Beauty blocks look so effective in those settings! I'm off to play with it myself now...
