Easy street border options and Lego stuff

So I can't decide what to do with easy street!

Here it is in EQ

Should I add a skinny black border and another wider border like this teal/ turqouise?

Or maybe a scrappy strippy outer border?

or more of a chunky outer border

or plain black?

or no border at all and just add a black binding?

help me decide!!

others in the family have been creative
Here hubby made this funky cool lamp

my son made a lego Jesus being on the cross and in Heaven

see, the soldiers stabbing him and other bowing down- even the armless woman is crying real tears!(the blue dot)- well didn't notice she was missing an arm until after I took the photos, the arm is replaced now

Here's Jesus in Heaven

a few more close ups of him, he actually IS hanging and his hand is bleeding

see the blood and flesh on the ground

We switched furnuture around the other day too, this room used to have the kids computer desks and the wall where I was standing (to the left) had my design wall, now that has the TV and couch

Sonja had some avocado, her first solids, this picture is not the first time she had it, it's been a few weeks of trying, now she's getting better at eating and swallowing

So many choices that are all pretty but I like the turqouise the best followed by the black border.

I would vote for the first and last options.
I've heard of many different things made from Legos, but this is a first for me!

I liked most of them but think the chug is my favorite.

I like the black border, or no border and black binding. The chunky one is especially disturbing to me -- detracts from the blocks. JMHO.

Lego Jesus -- how very creative is that! Love it! He's really learning and incorporating things, isn't he?

Sonja -- avacado was my grands first food. Great way to start!

Happy New Year to you.

scrappy strippy outer border caught my eye. I like that the best. Beautiful quilt!

I think if it was mine I would go with the first border option or just the black binding. The first border gives your eye somewhere's to rest where as for me the scrappy borders seem to compete with the middle. And the black border seems too much but the blacking binding is perfect.

The first or the last - the scrappy borders detract from the beautiful piecing! Jesus Lego? sweet!

I like the scrappy strippy outer border. The Jesus renditions are priceless!

I really like the no border option most and just the black binding.

I think I like the scrappy strippy border best. Always difficult to choose the border. You have to feel it yourself. Take your time. Lykke til!

My choice is the scrappy strip border. I just like the way it flows together. The lamp and lego creations sure are fun.

The Scrappy Strippy border would be my choice. I was thinking of going with no border with mine but now that I see your ideas I will go scrappy strippy if I don't go with a no borderquilt.

I think a plain border. The others are just so busy with such a busy centre. The plain black border is my favourite. Your daughter is beautiful. Love her blue eyes! My daughter has huge blue eyes too.

Hi Bea,
for the Easy street, I thing a tiny black border, followed by a solid turquoise (wide) border, then black binding. The plain border gives your eyes a place to rest and the twin black border & binding bring your eyes out of the deign. The pieced borders don't accentuate the quilt at all.
JMHO!!

personally, I don't like the piano key strippy border, I think it would be too busy and competes with the center of the quilt I also don't like no border. I think A border just sets it off even more and gives the eye a place to rest on such a busy quilt top.

The chunky border is calmer than the piano key, but still a little busy. I think either one of your solid borders would be a better choice. I think the black looks best because It looks like a frame and finishes it off. The blue border is good too, though. How would it look with an inner blue border and outer black border?

My first choice is THE BABY WITH THE BIG BLUE EYES!

I love the scrappy strip border, but after all that piecing, a nice solid might be sounding better! :-)

I'm thinking about border too, and You had some good ideas, I like the scrappy strippy outer border.
Thanks for sharing!

The pieced border is wwayy too busy. Stick with the plain.

Don't like the dark blue border as much as I thought I would. It makes the corner blocks pop but not in a good way.

I like the scrappy strippy border for an eye popping quilt or the solid black border(only thinner)for a more subdued quilt.

Wow - thanks for showing this in EQ Bea. I'm definitely going to go with Option 1 for my quilt. Only the first option allows all the colors in the center to pop. The other borders really tone done those colors.

I am struggling too. I think simpler is best. I too say black or no border.

I decided to just bind mine - my bed didn't need the larger size that borders would provide. It still isn't quilted yet!

I made two, one I didn't border and one I just added a 3.5" green border using the leftovers. All the borders look great - tough decision.
