sneak peak and misc pictures

Even though I have 3 weeks to go ( OR LESS!)

I am able to sew, not so much long arm quilt anymore, though I might try this week, we'll see.

I started working on the 3rd quilt for McCall's, here's a sneak peak.

Sonja's room is all painted and the crib set up and of course a quilt is ready too!

Even though I'm getting to the HARD stage of pregnancy, hot, miserable, can't sleep etc.

there's one perk with being pregnant.... built in table!

Wonder what Peanut will say with a new PERSON in the house soon....?

now some ODD pictures, I saw this on the upper ledge or our patio yesterday, have no clue what this THING is, it's gross looking and it was rather big.

at night I looked out in the backyard and saw this cool mushroom cloud, all the other clouds in the sky were flat and thin looking, except this one, and it was so pretty reflecting the sunset.

I have been pondering the fores applique project I want to start, if I should machine applique or needle turn, and call me NUTS but I think I will do needle turn, then I can also have a project to bring to the hospital! see, I'm planning more what I want to do at the hospital, haven't planned baby stuff to bring yet..... :-) I will though.

I just want this week to be over, our church is having night time VBS this week starting tonight and I'm teaching the crafts to about 30 kids, my pastor's wife is praying that I won't go into labor TOO early... he he

I wanted to wait until I had at least some quilting pics to show!

we've been kind of busy around here.

My neighbor offered to paint the baby's room, so she's been doing that the last two mornings, it looks awesome!!

these! my husband and kids made peanut butter cookies the other night.

my husband makes much better cookies than I do :-)

and the sunset the other day was so pretty I had to snap a picture of it with my new camera.

Now, have you ever seen one of these??

my neighbor brought it over for the kids to see, it's some sort of horned carterpillar that eats tomato plants, I've seen it before, but NOT with the eggs on top of it, those are a kind of wasp eggs, when they hatch they burrow into the caterpillar and eat him from the inside! yuck! well good for the tomato plant, not good for him....

And I also got some fabric in the mail- Christmas in July!!

well they are not really christmas-y fabrics, more like winter... but fabric.com had them on sale, so I just couldn't HELP myself...

I have been working on more hexies :-)

And sewed on some labels in missing quilts, this is the back of the wonky house block swap!

new camera and making quilt labels and more

Guess what I got as an aerly "birth" present!

a new camera, I had been strongly hinting at this and told my husband he had until mid august to get one :-)

Of course I have about 100 goofy pics already, just playing with setting and zooming in and out.

This was yesterday morning outside

Yesterday and today I'm working on labels for quilts that were missing them, I didn't know my pile what THIS big... it's taking a while

here's my ol' brother machine doing all the work.

I also sorted the threads for the machine- I'm noticing a BIG difference in threads I got on eBay for real cheap vs gutterman embroidery threads, you get what you pay for!

Yesterday I decided to trim back out cherry tomato plants, we only have two but they grew out of control! of course I had to take some pics too.

My son picked the ripe tomatoes, this is just one of many containers he picked, he counted 213 tomatoes yesterday!

And THIS came in the mail yesterday, from the RWB blog hop, I won a halloween charm pack and sign, I'm really not into halloween, the charm pack is cute though, but the sign I have to pass on to someone else one day.... ( I didn't know it would come in the package, otherwise I would have said to pass it on to someone else)

My husband took this picture of me driving yesterday.

And I didn't forget about Peanut! trying out the zoom again :-)

Lastly, my wonderful neighbors threw me baby shower too! it was great, I got tons of diapers and wipes and a diaper genie :-) I never used one with my kids when they were babies, I just used a trash can, but I figured a CERTAIN furry guy above would just LOVE to dig into the trash full of stinky diapers, so I put that on my wish list.

I am very Blessed!

 

a little quilting and a house pin cushion

I'm done with "round 2" of the hexie flowers.

Each "round" I look at my stash of scraps, I have little cubbies where I have fabrics sorted by color.

I have 7 cubbies

white

yellow/orange

red

pink/purple

blue

green

black/brown

so I take 2 scraps from each one for the outer part of the hexie flowers and use smaller scraps for the inside. AND I have this plastic container I think for beads where the hexies in progress fit perfectly 14 at a time.

Today I just had to start on my custoners 8 pillow tops, I haven't done pillow tops like this on the long arm before, I've done mini quilts one at a time, but here she wanted basic leaves all over and gave me muslin for backing, so two pillow tops fit a WOF perfectly.

I'm halfway done- 4 down 4 to go.

Oh I just HAD to show this too- a neighbor invited the kids and I to go a pick blackberries in their back yard, so we did that and had plenty for a cobbler. yum!

Then today I got this little package!! I knew it was a pin cushion for the pin cushion swap, but didn't know what it would look like...

look! a little house! isn't it cute? and with a little owl on top, isn't that fitting? :-)

And even a little own pin on top too, what a HOOT!
