Today I woke up and there was NO power in the house...
My husband drove the kids to school and I found out that it wouldn't be back on until 11.30, well that got pushed out further and didn't come on until 1pm.
But I did do some more applique!
I finished the BIRD, then I was about to start the DEER one and realized that the other day when I prepped everything, I didn't flip over the ricky tims stable stuff, so the whole block will be mirror imaged! I figured it was easier to flip over the black fabric and re' trace the outlines in mirror image, than redo the whole pile. It's a block that's not "facing" one way, so I think it'll be okay :-)
Here's the roll of batting I opened up!
and about 12" left of my old roll :-(
As I was cutting out batting for my TOPS I found this project- remember it was supposed to be in Sonja's room!!? well.....
I sewed the borders on it yesterday
and started a LOOOONG bias strip for the vine.
Here I just cut out a bunch of bias 1" strips and ironed about 1/3 over on one side and then the other side. looks pretty good. Then I pinned the vine around and I started adding Basting glue around, what a sticky mess that is and because of the way I ironed these, the folds come undone so I need to glue those as well. may have to unpin the rest and glue the strip together and THEN glue it to the border.
It's in a box now under my long arm frame- so until NEXT time...
At least I already traced all the flowers, yesterday I just loosely cut them out and put them back in the bag.
This is my block for the WONKY bee I'm part of. a very Neat way to make a wonky sort of star block, I might try that myself on other fabrics.
it's off in the mail already
Look, who's sniffing out the baby!
He was being very gentle :-)
She loves to sleep in the swing
yesterday afternoon I was hanging out on the couch watching TV with the kids and I laid Sonja next to me while I worked on binding for a quilt.
Isn't she sweet?
and smiley!
And BTW my backing fabrics arrrived today and are being washed..

Awe, Bea, you have a sweet life going there, and I love to peek in. Thanks for sharing.
OH my gosh ~ That picture with your dog inspecting that little 'thing' that's invaded HIS house is adorable. I LOVE IT! So cute.
It looks like you are getting lots done - even with that new baby!! I am impressed.
The quilt is going to be gorgeous. I love the wonderful colors you are using. That is a lot of bias though.
The pictures are just darling. She looks like a very relaxed little girl and what a gorgeous smile!
