Red White and Blue Block and Giveaway!

Hasn't it been fun to do this RWB blog hop??

Thanks to Madame Samm at sew we quilt

and Jane at Jane's fabrics and quilts for hosting this!

I've really enjoyed it! some great blocks and completed projects too and giveaways.

Here is My block.

I designed it in EQ7

I merged these two blocks in EQ

to come up with this!

I just used scraps for this one block.
These are the cutting directions
Red:
(4) 3 1/2" squares
(1) 3 7/8" square cut in half diagonally
Blue:
(8) 3 1/2" squares
White:
(4) 3 1/2" x 6 1/2" rectangles
(1) 3 7/8" square cut in half diagonally
(1) 2" x 8" or cut it a little longer than 8"
Red #2:
(1) 2" x 8" or cut a little longer

On the back of the blue squares, mark a diagonal with a pencil or Frixion pen.

Lay the blue square on top of white 3 1/2" x 6 1/2" and sew on the line, trim 1/4" from seam- AFTER you check it's straight :-)

Sew red and white triangles together

Sew White and red #2 strips together on the long side, then sub-cut to 4 sets of 2"

Sew the Red #2 and White patches together to make (2) four patches, also finish the flying geese units.

Place pieces as shown and sew together.

Here's an EQ layout of what it would look like if you swapped the red and blue on every other block and rotated the blocks, will look great in scraps!

Now, on to the giveaway

Connecting Threads is sponsoring this giveaway and
have been VERY generous with this giveaway!

This you know all their fabrics are made in the US! and the prices are great too.

This was a red white and blue bundle I picked to go with our "theme" I love the nautical theme too!

doesn't this bundle look great?
it features 15 FQs
(If you want to look at it online click the picture)
And Connecting threads is giving away 3 bundles to 3 different winners!
how awesome is that.
(Oh, and I get one too- just not here yet- nice to also get something this time.)

Of course I had to play in EQ with the same layout as above and use these fabrics.

Here's what you have to do to be in the drawing:

Be a follower of my blog (leave 1 comment)
sign up for CTs newsletter or let me know if you already get theirs (1 comment)
LIKE my facebook page (1 comment)
LIKE connecting threads on facebook (1 comment)
Tell me what you'd make with this bundle if you win (1 comment)
You can do 1 or all 5, that's up to you :-)
I will draw 3 winners on friday the 13th

There are so many things I could do with that little FQ bundle. I have a R/W/B challenge quilt to construct by January so it would come in handy for that. I could also use it to make a veteran's quilt. Oh, the possibilities!
