Again a Few things and Christmas getting CLOSE

Oh boy! it's only 11 days until Christmas! ARGH!!!
well all my shopping in done, pretty much, just a couple of things I want to make etc. that I need to hurry on.

First let me show you the Christmas tree- this is the KIDS tree :-)

My dog Peanut got into the presents the other day so I moved them up high on a table to be out of reach.

I also wanted to show more progress on the ORCA quilt
The RED in the ORCA quilt, I chose pink and I've used every bit of scraps that's NOT yardage,
a while ago ( over a year ago) I got an order from fabric.com and this pink heart panel was in there, I called them up that it was a mistake, they said to keep it and make whatever I wanted out of it, well it's been sitting on my shelf for over a year without being touched, so with my pinks running low I decided to cut into some of this. I actually looks pretty cool in strings (sometimes I removed part of a string if it was on a line etc.)

look at the pile of strings! and I have this ugly pink plaid in there too :-)

Here's the CLUE #4 pile, almost done

AND part of the barcode quilt- it's ALL quilted, phew that took a long time, now I just need the binding and hanging sleeve.

here's all the orca #4 blocks DONE (this step was time consuming!!)

I also wanted to show this "redwork" I've been working on.
This one I brought with me to the trip to disney, but then on the train ride down, my son sat on the embroidery hoop! OOPSIE it broke.... well we slept most of the way anyways, so I didn't waste any time really. I finished this one when I got back home- it's actually black!

Below is a snowman in blue that I'm working on, it will be a table runner when done, included the fabrics etc for it. The hoop I borrowed from my neighbor, but since then my husband has glued MY hoop back together and it seems to hold up well.

Okay, so looking at Bonnie Hunters blog earlier I saw this tree mug rug she made, I had planned on making first a set of owl pot holders for my kids teachers, but then found out they all like purple and I don't have THAT much purple fabric, so then I thought of a mug rug with an owl, but then saw Bonnie's and thought a tree would be nice with a purple border, so that's what I'm making now!
(3 of them)

here's the front, within an hour I had most of them done already- missing the side triangles and the borders.

and then today my friend Amy came by she really needed this quilt quilted before next thursday, so sorry Elizabeth! Yours is next :-)

My daughter got invited to a party sunday too, I SHOULD be making the party girl an owl and portfolio, but don't know if I'll have time now....

Need this one quilted before thursday
Binding and sleeve on barcode quilt before Christmas
3 mug rugs before next wednesday

Oh yeah and most likely 60 cookies for this neighborhood cookie exchange sunday too!
Hmmm, sleep is overrated :-) no just kidding I love SLEEP :-)

I am also drooling over your long arm machine. I'm also definitely not ready for Christmas - how does it sneak up like that? ;) We have to keep our presents away from our kitties so I feel your pain on that one!

My gosh you have been busy! That was a neat idea to cut up the pink panels and your string blocks look great! I have some old panels that I might have to try that with, thanks!
